Adirondacks- Reflecting On The Day

“It’s a long journey, and in it, I’m a stranger.”

The clouds rolled in with about an hour of light left and we stopped at this little pond as the light turned gray. I took a minute to reflect on the day thinking photographically it was over. I was wrong as we had some incredible light at the last minute.  But needing a subject and always looking for that one last photo I set the self timer and got into the scene to add the human element to the picture.

Nice photo.

Adirondacks- Follensby Clear Pond, St Regis & Storm Clouds

About an hour and a half before then end of our first full day in the Adirondack’s it looked like we were going to have a last shot at good light as storms rolled in. The light beams were great and the dark clouds later provided a false sunset well before it’s time.

LOL (I know where that comes from).. No those light beams were all God’s doing, all but briefly. Hence the rare moment there was no tripod under the camera in the image you took of me shooting it. They would have been gone. I had been waiting in the car until that light happened. I told you just wait until you see what I shot of this scene.

Fantastic image, Dan. I was there, but somehow missed that brief moment. Did you photoshop those sunbeams into the photo?

Stunning rays of sun and different layers of clouds
