God Bless The USA

I love the symbolism of our flag and love capturing it in photographs. The image above was taken while photographing a swim meet for the newspaper. A large flag hanging on the wall was reflecting off the metal ceiling tiles above the pool.

The image below was taken while walking to another assignment and the crescent moon behind the cloud and the warm sunset light just made me stop and take a picture. Neither image are what I was there for or intended to take. Sometimes you just have to be open to seeing new images where  you don’t expect them.

Both photos taken with Canon 7D with 70-200/2.8

The first picture is so unusual. Very strong.

Looking To The Heavens

When the light is right you need to have a camera with you. I was grabbing a bite to eat at a convenience store when I saw this and having my go everywhere Fuji XE1 with me I was able to capture this scene. Take your camera everywhere you go and you will not only have it with you when something great happens but you will also see more as it forces you to always be looking.

Very nice shot!

Snow and Graeme Park Barn

Sometimes the conditions are perfect but time is limited. This is one of those situations. I only had about twenty minutes free to get out during the recent snow storm and luckily I had my Fuji XE1 w/18-55 with me and could make some quick compositions at Graeme Park in Horsham. These photos illustrate how I worked the compositions of the barn at the park. Always look for secondary compositions after you capture the image you initially wanted.

Beautiful photos. So pretty in all seasons, but we rarely stick around during the height of the storm, so nice to see at this time. Kitties are Orrie, Tommi, and Kitty.

Two guards and a tiny spy ! I love this picture with the two aspects (faces…characteristics….my English is still “in progress”) of the winter time – cold and cosiness)

Kids Looking

Examining the artwork.

A quick grab shot while on a holiday assignment at a local museum. Fuji XE1 w/18-55mm

Looking in on Santa

Taken on the same holiday assignment as the image above but outside as this youngster peeked into “Santa’s log cabin” and was illuminated by the warm light coming from within. Canon 7D, 17-35/2.8

Glad to see you’re back. This grab shot probably couldn’t have been posed any better…antlers?! Wonderful! Yes, a camera in hand (ok, a pocket is close enough) once started leads to places one can’t predict.
